The Galilee Medical Center (GMC) has launched a new outpatient psychological clinic for children and adults, offering comprehensive mental health services to residents of Israel’s northern periphery. This initiative is part of the GMC’s ongoing commitment to meeting the mental health needs of the region, particularly for individuals affected by trauma and other psychological challenges.
Established in 2024, the clinic responded to an urgent need for services, receiving an impressive 482 new referrals by July alone—highlighting the acute demand for accessible mental health support in the current climate.
The clinic provides a full range of psychological care, including clinical and medical psychology, and integrates specialists across all psychological disciplines under one roof. This interdisciplinary approach enables the delivery of holistic, patient-centered care for individuals coping with psychological, medical, and physical difficulties. It also ensures that both patients and their families receive the support they need throughout the treatment process.
This new outpatient center complements GMC’s well-established Department for Child and Family Guidance, which offers inpatient psychiatric treatment for children aged 6–18. Notably, it remains the only inpatient psychiatric facility north of Tel Aviv for children aged 6–12. By combining both outpatient and inpatient services, GMC ensures a seamless continuum of care, tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.
