In recent years, there has been a significant rise in the need for hematology-oncology care, due to advances in research and early diagnostics, leading to increased referrals, including from the Israeli military.\u00a0<span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit; color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">To meet the growing demand and provide state-of-the-art medical care, we must expand our infrastructure, space, and equipment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">We plan to build a new hematology-oncology Institute and a protected PET-CT facility, covering approximately 600 square meters, adjacent to the existing Oncology Institute. This new facility will improve access to diagnostics, treatment, and follow-up care \u2014 all in a modern, safe, and supportive environment for patients and their families.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">PET-CT scans are vital diagnostic tool in oncology and is now considered a gold-standard, life-saving imaging technique. It provides accurate functional imaging of tissues and organs, helping detect cancer, heart disease, and neurological disorders. It is used for initial diagnosis, disease staging, treatment monitoring, and long-term follow-up.<br \/>Currently, access to PET-CT scanner in northern Israel is extremely limited, with long waiting time and travel distances that disrupt treatment continuity and may endanger lives.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Introducing PET-CT scans services at the Galilee Medical Center will significantly improve patient outcomes, expand nuclear medicine capabilities, foster advanced clinical research, and serve medical students from the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine in the Galilee.<\/p>\n<p
