Israel faces a nationwide shortage of pathologists, especially in peripheral regions. Combined with outdated equipment, this shortage causes diagnostic delays that can negatively impact treatment outcomes. We plan to renovate the Pathology Department in line with international standards, including:
- Reorganizing workspaces and designating specific zones (reception, cutting, staining, etc.)
- Installing ergonomic lab tables, appropriate lighting, and chemical-resistant flooring
- Upgrading infrastructure to accommodate advanced equipment, including improved ventilation in areas handling hazardous materials
In addition, we plan to acquire:
- Digital pathology scanner: for secure, rapid sharing of tissue sample images with national and international experts
- Advanced immunohistochemistry system: for detecting specific proteins in tissue samples — critical for accurate diagnosis and treatment selection.
