About the Friends of Galilee Medical Center
The Friends of the Galilee Medical Center (NPO) work to promote the health of the Galilee’s residents by developing the medical center, constructing new facilities, acquiring advanced technologies, strengthening ties with the community, raising awareness of healthy lifestyles, and creating a supportive healing environment in hospital wards and public spaces.
The organization operates in cooperation with the hospital’s management to establish new departments, purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment, and introduce cutting-edge technologies — all with the goal of providing the best possible medical care to the residents of northern Israel.
Thanks to the generous support of donors from Israel and around the world, the Friends of the Galilee Medical Center are helping transform the hospital into a modern, pleasant, and up-to-date medical center that delivers high-quality care both in routine times and during emergencies.
In recent years, the organization has carried out several significant renovation projects and purchased advanced medical equipment. Currently, the association is engaged in fundraising for high-priority initiatives, including the renovation and upgrading of medical services and facilities — which will improve access to healthcare for a broader population in the region.
In addition, the organization seeks to strengthen the connection between the community and the medical center and raise awareness of healthy living through community outreach in partnership with local authorities and voluntary organizations across all sectors.
The friends association is led by Raya Strauss Ben-Dror (President of the Association) and Sivan Yechieli (Chair of the Association), together with board members representing all sectors of the Western Galilee community, all of whom volunteer their time for the benefit of the region’s residents. The association holds a valid Certificate of Proper Management, and donations to it are recognized for tax credit under Section 46A.
