Palliative Care Center

Palliative care is a holistic medical approach that includes physical, emotional, and social support aimed at relieving suffering and improving quality of life for patients and families facing serious illness or complex treatments.
Contrary to popular belief, palliative care is not limited to terminal cancer patients — it also applies to those with advanced chronic conditions such as kidney failure, heart failure, chronic lung diseases, neurological disorders, and more.

The care is personalized and provided by a multidisciplinary team of doctors, pharmacists, nurses, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, complementary medicine practitioners, and volunteers.

The service began in April 2023 within the Oncology Division. However, due to the lack of a dedicated space, both patient care and staff collaboration are significantly limited.
Establishing a permanent, tailored facility will allow the service to expand to non-oncological patients, provide a more comfortable and supportive setting for families, and serve as a hub for the multidisciplinary care team.
